Breathwork for Bodyworkers with Kassy Daggett, LMT

Breathing is our connection to life.  To breathe fully is to be fully alive.

During any experience of trauma (whether physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual) our nervous system reacts automatically with an oppositional breath triggering fight, flight, or freeze.  In those moments of danger, this is a very effective response for survival.  However, those moments can also contribute to chronic holding patterns in the body.  When paired with massage, an invitation to breathe can often provide greater release.

"Breathing is massage from the inside out." ~Kassy Daggett, LMT

This evening will be an opportunity to learn (and practice) breathing techniques for your own self care that you will also be able to use with your clients.  Come prepared to participate in individual, partner, and group breathing activities.

Kassy Daggett, LMT is a somatic therapist, coach and workshop facilitator. She has been a breathwork practitioner for over 20 years and offers "Self Care on the Path of Service" workshops at Breitenbush Hot Springs with husband Victor Rozek.  She also co-facilitates a women's workshop with Jeannie Edwards, LMT called "Reflections" It's About Time." We try to end the meeting at 8:30 pm and then have a period of time to network when we are done presenting. Please feel free to bring your own snacks/dinner with you.  We are located in Lane's New Downtown Center across from the public library at 101 W. 10 Street.  We will be meeting in Room 104. The building is a LEED Platinum, energy efficient complex that includes multiple green features like rainwater harvesting, passive ventilation, solar energy and solar thermal generation and geothermal heating and cooling, among other things.

Our next meeting is:

June 1: Why We Spa with Marta Cuboni

July 6: Cancer & Massage with Noemi Elizabeth

August 3: DIY Marketing Planning for LMTs with Andrea Bailey
